Biography

Saabi is an artist interested in the absurdities we build, inherit and continue without asking why.

Working across physical and digital forms, Saabi looks at technology, ownership, consumption, status, work, progress and the strange systems people create around themselves.

The work can be quiet, playful, critical or ridiculous. Sometimes it takes the form of an object. Sometimes an image. Sometimes a character. Sometimes almost nothing at all.

Materials and technologies are tools rather than identities. Traditional craft, digital processes and artificial intelligence may sit beside one another where the work calls for them.

At the centre is a persistent suspicion of unnecessary fuss.
